Responsible for managing the day to day operations of shuttles (line hauls) from the City of Industry Distribution Facility to Hub locations.

Responsible for efficiently planning, coordinating and executing transfers of floor sample merchandise from the DC to stores (directly and through the hubs)

Key Accountabilities:    
  • Manage, coach, develop and provide leadership for non-exempt associates on a daily basis.
  • Develop team to achieve performance goals and gain efficiencies.
  • Maintain a high level of service and satisfaction to the Hubs
  • Maintain a high level of service and satisfaction to the Stores
  • Plan and coordinate movement of merchandise in the most cost effective manner, including return trailer movement.
  • Manage safe and proper handling and loading of merchandise to ensure maximum trailer utilization and avoid product damage
  • Ensure a high level of inventory accuracy through adherence to all relevant standard operating procedures (SP's) and proper scanning of merchandise
  • Monitor, review and control shuttle and payroll expense and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate dispatch schedule with 3rd party carriers and receiving locations
  • Ensure timely and accurate information in all appropriate Macy's systems including FEDFLO
  • Ensure on-time arrival to store and facility locations.
  • Balance daily workload in partnerships with operational departments to maximize efficiencies.
  • Maintain working relationship with 3rd party carriers.
  • Trace missing merchandise; handle re-pulls for wrong, damaged and defective merchandise.
  • Analyze reports and data to effectively manage business.
  • Ensure manifest accuracy.
  • Develop team to achieve performance goals and gain efficiencies while maintinaing a high level of engagement
  • Any other responsibility management deems essential.
 Skill Summary: 
  • Experience in distribution and logistics of Furniture or similar "Big Ticket" merchandise
  • Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Industrial Management degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of PC programs including Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
  • Macy's mainframe (RDS) and FEDFLO systems knowledge are essential.
  • Experince and knowledge in Distribution, Logistics and Material Handeling

  • Knowledge of contracts, bill of sales and title transfers.
  • Ability to make good decisions and manage several processes in a fast paced environment.
