  • What do positions at Macy’s pay?

    A number of factors determine the amount that a position will pay, including the type of position and the level of candidate’s skill and experience relative to that position. The interview is the best time in the process to pose questions regarding pay.

  • How many positions can I apply to at a time?

    You may apply to as many positions as you would like, but a candidate will only be considered for one position at a time. To ensure that you are considered for the position you’re most interested in, we suggest that you apply to that position only. You may look at other opportunities if that particular position does not work out for you.

  • What are the opportunities for advancement at Macy’s?

Completing An Application

  • I forgot my username; what should I do?

    On the, click "Apply" and then "Returning User" on the next screen. Select the "Forgot Username" link located directly below the log in boxes. Enter in the e-mail address associated with your account and click "Validate." The system will pull up your username and offer a link to take you back to the log in page or to look up your password. Please note that if you have multiple candidate profiles, the system may ask for additional information to verify your unique account.

  • I forgot my password; what should I do?

    On the, click "Apply" and then "Returning User" on the next screen. Select the "Forgot Password’ link located directly below the log in boxes based on your need. You will then be asked to enter in your username and the e-mail address associated with your account. Click "OK." The system will send a new password to your e-mail address. You will be asked to create a new password the very first time that you log into the system with this system-generated password.

  • I am locked out of my profile; what should I do?

    If you have more than 5 unsuccessful log-in attempts on, your candidate profile account will lock for a period of 5 minutes. After this time has passed, you may once again log into the system.

  • I don’t have time to finish the application and/or position questionnaire; what should I do?

    Once you have started you application and/or questionnaire, you can always save your work and return at any time to complete the form and submit it. A special link, highlighted in red, is provided at the bottom right of this page, and in the footer of every page on, to give you step-by-step instructions on how to save and return to complete your application and/or questionnaire.

  • I am having trouble completing the tax credit survey and/or the questionnaire.

    The problem that you are encountering may be the result of your internet browser’s pop-up blocker settings. In Internet Explorer, open a new browser window, and select "Tools" from the menu bar and then "Internet Options." Click on the "Privacy" tab and uncheck the box next to "Block Pop Ups." Then go back to your application and access the Tax Credit Survey and/or questionnaire. Please keep in mind that different browsers utilize different methods to disable pop-ups; if you continue to have issues when using Mozilla or Chrome, you may need to try a different browser to complete the application.

  • There is no "Submit" button; how do I submit my application?

    This is sometimes because you have not completed the Tax Credit Survey portion of the application. Log back into your application and go to the Tax Credit Survey block; click on the blue link and complete the tax credit survey. If you do not wish to complete the survey, pleas enter [enter the name of radio dial] on the introductory page of the survey. Then click "Save and Continue" until you get to the summary page of your application. You should now see the "Submit" button.

Status Of An Application

  • How do I know that my application was received?

    Shortly after you click "Submit" to send us your application, you will receive an e-mail confirming the receipt of your application. If you do not receive this message, please check to ensure that you’ve set your spam filters to allow e-mail from; if this is not the issue, please log back into and check to ensure that you have clicked the "Submit" button on the last screen on the application.

  • When will I hear something about my application?

    It generally takes 24-48 hours for us to review your application, but it may take longer depending on the volume of applications we have received. Any status updates on your application will be sent via e-mail, so please ensure that you have your e-mail spam filters set to allow e-mail from .

Scheduling An Interview

  • I’m trying to schedule my interview, but it keeps telling me to come back later. What should I do?

    Our electronic interview scheduling system will display all of the open interview dates and times for a period of 14 days from the first time you click the link to schedule your interview. Sometimes interview slots fill up quickly and there are limited or no slots available at the time a candidate is attempting to schedule an interview. Please check back frequently, as we monitor the available interview slots in relation to invitations extended, and add slots as needed.

  • The dates and times available on the scheduling site don’t work with my personal commitments.

    If you do not see anything on the interview calendar that works with your personal schedule, please check back later. We add new interview dates and times frequently, and there may be something added to the calendar that would be a better fit time-wise.

  • I need to request an accommodation for my interview; what do I need to do?

    Candidates who would like to request an interview accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter or an interview via TTY, should submit the specifics of their accommodation request via e-mail to

  • How do I reschedule or cancel a scheduled interview?

    If you received an electronic interview invitation, click the link in your original interview invitation to access our interview scheduling site. Once there, you can click the appropriate links to reschedule your interview date and time, or you may opt to cancel your interview appointment.
