Marketing Manager

Overview of position:
The Marketing Manager will serve as the point of contact for matters related to paid search marketing on search engines for the macys.com, macysweddingchannel.com sites. The candidate will also have a role in optimizing organic search relevancy of these three online properties. The Marketing Manager will focus also on increasing conversion from paid search, organic search and onsite search.

Key Accountabilities:

bulletCollaborate with the merchant team to develop the list of important brands/category/product keywords to drive traffic and sales for the three online properties.
bulletMine macys.com's onsite search logs and organic search referrals on a monthly basis to grow keyword portfolio. Identify opportunities for increasing organic search relevancy.
bulletWork with Account Managers at search engine partners to ensure that copy and/or linking changes are made accurately and in a timely manner. Verify on an ongoing basis that search terms are linking to a live page on macys.com.
bulletProvide a weekly analysis of paid search term performance based on traffic, conversion and sales.
bulletTeam up with Marketing Analyst to identify trends in behavior of customers referred by search. Adjust campaigns/Optimize search terms, copy, bids and/or landing pages based on this data.
bulletKeep abreast of the latest trends and emerging technologies with regards to search marketing, both organic/natural and paid.
bulletWork with analytical team to identify opportunities for increasing conversion on macys.com.

Skills Summary:

bulletStrong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. The core function of this role is to analyze search partner-driven traffic and sales data to derive conclusions and actionable insights.
bulletHighly motivated self-starter. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be comfortable working independently to achieve a successful result with minimal guidance.
bulletTech-savvy with ability to learn new concepts and software applications quickly.
bulletExperience in direct marketing (preferably in the interactive space).
bulletStrong attention to detail.
bulletStrong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable presenting in front of a group.
bulletProven Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Proficiency in File Maker and MS Access a plus.
bulletAbility to confidently handle multiple projects simultaneously and under deadlines.
bulletProven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
bulletPassion for retail and an ability to keep on top of the latest trends.
bullet2 or more years work experience in a marketing role. BA/BS from a 4 year program preferred.
