Overview of Position:
As Operating Vice President, Store Construction, you will be responsible for the capital program for an assigned store division. You will direct and coordinate all operations including assignment of projects, budgeting, and staffing of the construction team. Some of your direct responsibilities include:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Provide leadership and direction to a team of Directors and Project Managers in the execution of the business plan. |
 | Support the development of the capital expense plan and regularly interact with store division principals and their counterparts. |
 | Facilitate coordination of building, interior and electro-mechanical plan development within prescribed design criteria at the lowest possible cost. |
 | Provide administrative conduit that encourages interaction among Real Estate, Area Research, store division counterparts and outside developers. |
 | Contribute to the development and implementation of Macy's, Inc.'s Best Practice Program. |
Skills Summary:
 | Four year, undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. Masters degree is preferable. |
 | More than ten years of construction project management experience in a retail environment, with the last five years being spent in a supervisory role. |
 | Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. |
 | Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior level executives and the vendor community. |
 | Prior experience planning, forecasting, and monitoring budgets and staffing. |
 | Ability to direct and effectively coach a team of people. |
 | Ability to travel. |
