Overview of Position:
The Junior Designer position is the entry-level position in the Store Design department. As a Junior Designer you will assist the Store Design team in the development of design packages for all new and remodel stores. Following are some of the specific responsibilities of the job:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Assist the design team with survey of existing spaces, evaluation of data and budget and analysis of design, including color and materials and merchandising criteria. |
| Work with the design team to research and develop design packages based upon Macy's, Inc. standards, together with requirements of function, aesthetics, and budget. |
| Assist with the development of production documents and specifications in coordination with Store Planning, Store Construction, outside consultants, vendors, and Visual Merchandising. |
| Work with design consultants to ensure design turnover packages are in compliance with design intent. |
| Maintain files of organized documentation and communications during all phases of a project. |
| Develop positive, professional relationships while working with design staff, divisional personnel, Macy's, Inc. executives, and outside vendors and consultants. |
Skills Summary:
| Four year, undergraduate degree in a discipline of the arts (Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Design, etc.). |
| Co-op or intern experience in a retail design environment. |
| Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. |
| Outstanding oral and written communication skills. |
| Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities. |
