Here are some examples of how we at Macy's Corporate Services are working to improve our communities: Employee Volunteer Opportunities Our award-winning Partners in Time employee volunteerism program allows all associates - as well as their families and friends - to serve their neighbors through meaningful and fun group projects. Partners in Time activities are carefully structured and organized so they make the best use of our employees' time as they strive for balance in their lives. Partners projects span a range of interests, with areas of special concentration including, children, education, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS, and hunger. Macy's, Inc.'s Partners in Time program at Macy's Corporate Services began in 1994, helping to organize associates who were already deeply committed to community service in Cincinnati. Today, Partners provides an opportunity to get involved in community service by creating easy, fun, and organized volunteer projects that are done as a group. The program is meaningful for employees in many different ways. Some enjoy meeting co-workers in a non-business setting. Others develop organizational and leadership skills by spearheading projects. For everyone, Partners is a great way to get involved in the communities where they live and work. Since 1994, Macy's Corporate Services has made a significant impact on social issues and organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati by giving 22,200 hours of service through 378 volunteer projects, including partnering with other Macy's, Inc. divisions in Cincinnati to build a house for Habitat for Humanity. Examples of the many projects our employees have been involved with include: - Making Holiday wishes come true by adopting more than 40 families for the "Santa's Heplers" Project.
- Organizing the Cincinnati Corporate Olympics and sponsoring a team to benefit Hamilton County Special Olympics.
- Tutoring 30 third and fourth graders from Heberle Elementary in reading each week from October through April.
- Running and sponsoring walkers and runners in the Race for the Cure to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in their fight against breast cancer.
- Collecting an equivalent of 14,000 pounds of food - about 14,000 meals - for hungry children throughout the area.
