Metro New York / New Jersey

*Page 1Page 2Page 3
Working for Macy's, Inc. in metro New York City - whether in Manhattan, its surrounding boroughs, on Long Island or in northern New Jersey - means experiencing first-hand the spirit and energy of America's largest and most cosmopolitan city.

Located here are nearly 75 Macy's and Bloomingdale's department stores, some functions of Macy's Corporate Services and macys.com, and headquarters of six Macy's, Inc. divisions - Bloomingdale's; Macy's Corporate Marketing; Macy's Merchandising Group; Macy's Logistics and Operations; Macy's East; macys.com and Macy's Home Store.

The will and resiliency of New Yorkers is exceptional. So is just about everything else associated with the "city that never sleeps." By virtually all counts, whether you measure in people, night clubs, buildings, landmarks, shopping, museums, restaurants or access to recreation, metro New York/New Jersey is a world-class place to be.

From its notoriety as the backdrop for the hip HBO comedy "Sex in the City" to its global recognition as the well-oiled business machine that fuels national and international commerce, New York City and all of its pieces come together in an urban landscape that's as intriguing as it can be intimidating.

After all, what's left to say about New York that Billy Joel hasn't sung & that David Letterman hasn't joked & that Blue Man Group hasn't splattered & that the casts of "Friends" and "Seinfeld" haven't explored & that "Saturday Night Live" hasn't skewered?

New York is a city that could quite comfortably live on legacy alone. It stands for sleek, sophisticated and glamorous - an entertainment mecca adored by the adored. But beyond the glitz and the gusto, it is a city of energetic people with pride and passion for their hometown. Post-Sept. 11th, New York also stands as a symbol for surviving... for overcoming... and for thriving against all odds. Indeed, New York and its environs have a strong self-image. Its people are fighters and winners.

Few places to live can offer you so much variety - something new and different practically every day
