Central Florida

*Page 1Page 2
If you are coming to work for Bloomingdale's, or Macy's Florida in Orlando or other cities in central Florida think fun in the sun! Central Florida, where the sun is always shining and the possibilities for fun are endless. Home to 554 lakes, this is the perfect base for all your Sunshine State adventures. You'll find that a day at the beach or at one of the world's most famous theme parks is within easy reach.

Central Florida is a place where you can be a kid at heart, but still enjoy "happening" happy hours, and grown-up indulgences like fine dining, championship golf, late-night club hopping and pampering spa treatments.

Infused with theme parks, restaurants, shopping centers, water parks, nightclubs and beaches, it would take a deliberate effort to not have fun in the playground that is Central Florida. With year-round balmy weather to boot, it's not hard to take. With more and more businesses moving operations here, increasing numbers of young professionals are migrating to this southern paradise where opportunities for social life beyond tourism continue to develop.

Orlando, best known for a certain set of ears on a certain likeable mouse, is hands-down the premier amusement center in the country. But with Mickey & Co. keeping the travelers busy, the city's lakeside parks (there are more than 300 lakes in the metro area), world-class museums and performing arts are reserved for the locals. A trip to Loch Haven Park offers all three. Surrounding Lake Formosa, Loch Haven Park is situated in the center of Orlando's Alden Arts District. The park features nature trails, a performing arts complex, three museums (including the Orlando Museum of Art) and a few small antique stores.

You can't go wrong on the food and entertainment fronts either. Since novelty food items like gator nuggets aren't for everyone, the city's restaurant scene has also ventured into more sophisticated international cuisine. The fierce competition between theme parks has led to a recruitment of top-name chefs like Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck. Fiddler's Green Irish Pub is another popular Orlando eatery, with its 23 beers on tap winning it the "best beer selection" title, and authentic Irish menu attracting diners daily. For a posh evening, head to Todd English's bluezoo, decorated with an aquatic theme and serving excellent seafood.

In much the same manner, Orlando's entertainment options are both plentiful and transient. Disney's Pleasure Island at Lake Buena Vista, the Church Street Station complex in downtown Orlando and Universal's CityWalk are nighttime hotspots. For beach lovers, both the Atlantic shore and the Gulf Coast are less than two hours away.
