Theoverall attitude of the company throughout the years has definitely convinced me that Bloomingdale's was a worthwhile company to join. I've found everything that I've been looking for in a business and enjoy the day-to-day challenges and working with an extremely talented group of people.
| What do you enjoy most about what you do and what are your overall job responsibilities? |
I enjoy making sure that my stores have the right assortment. I enjoy picking the right assortments and the partnerships that I have with the total company.
| What contribution do you make to your division and how do you feel you make a difference? |
We work very cohesively as a team, and my contributions can be anywhere from offering my opinions and making allowances to support my team and other coworkers to making sure that projects are accomplished. The support that I offer is my biggest contribution to the team.
| What has been your most memorable moment since joining the company? |
My most memorable experience was when our division received an award for being the best division of the year.
| How has the training you've received since joining the company benefited you? |
The training is a very comprehensive program that directly relates to your job in the sense that what you learn in the training room can be used immediately on the job. The programs are continually upgraded and enhanced to be an enjoyable learning experience for employees.
| Is community involvement important to you, have you been involved in any projects in your division and was this something you considered when joining the company? |
I volunteer for various community organizations. After September 11th, we had a drive to give toys to the firemen's children and donated money and clothing. We also have people involved in mentoring programs. There are always events that cater to charitable organizations, which leads me to believe that this organization is interested in maintaining a relationship with the community and in being involved in making a difference.
| What do you like best about your work environment? |
The people are the most important part of this job. We have an amazing group of people that make every effort to make your experience here better and more enjoyable. Our schedule is always flexible to allow individuals to accomplish whatever they need.
| What personal interests/hobbies do you have and how do you balance them with your work? |
I am currently renovating my home and one of my hobbies is to renovate old furniture. I make sure to take care of my personal life because it's very important to achieve balance.
| What advice would you give to a new associate joining the company? What helped you establish yourself and move ahead with your career goals? |
If you are seeking a challenging but rewarding career in retail, this is the place to work. I achieved my career goals by always having someone to monitor me and to help me work out a plan to get to the next level.

The company is always evolving in order to make sure that it is consistently moving ahead with all the trends and aggressively going after the best people. Overall, they always continue with their growth.
