"I've had a broad and diverse career at Macy's, Inc. I've worked in different divisions, different types of positions, different geographies, different customer segments. In fact, I've had 15 different assignments in my 28 years with the company. It's great to move vertically up through a company, but some of my moves have also been lateral – which have been great learning experiences that have deepened my understanding of every facet of retailing. With such diversity comes an appreciation that there's more than one way to approach solving a problem, and it's given me the gift of having a holistic view of our business. As a result, I've developed not only leadership skills, but also a respect for varying points of view. I've been influenced in my career by a great many talented people. In turn, I've also been in a position to help many other talented people develop themselves."
