How have you positively impacted your business or area of responsibility at Macy’s / Bloomingdale’s?
“Coaching a group of people has shown me the importance of having a positive attitude. When you have a positive attitude, your team is more engaged and much happier. A positive attitude is the first step to getting results through your people.”

How do you see your career progressing at Macy’s / Bloomingdale’s?

How have you coached your team / associates to be successful? What were the results in sales? What were the results in behavior? (STORES)
“Coaching is the most rewarding part of my job. I enjoy connecting with my associates and tailoring my coaching to their individual personalities. My department has really begun a notable change to our selling culture creating some great sales results (Up 35% to plan!)”
Sales Manager, Boston Downtown
Do you have any My Macy’s success stories that you were a part of?
“The macys.com branch of the My Macy’s initiative, I would say, is the “search and send” effort on both the parts of the store associates and the merchant team here at macys.com. The area in which I work, Men’s Shoes, has a large percentage of its sales come from omnichannel—meaning we are basically providing merchandise for customers in stores who previously would not have had the same access. This way, customers win, and in turn, Macy’s wins as well. I admire the fact that Macy’s is always trying to innovate new ways to reach and satisfy the customer. I believe this makes the atmosphere at Macy’s one of growth, creativity, and opportunity.”
Assistant Buyer, Macys.com

What is a typical day like for you?
“There is no typical day as is the case in many retail environments, but I am consistently analyzing my business through reports and using relationships with District Merchants and District Planners to make improvements or sustain growth, consistently analyzing my associates’ selling behaviors, coaching to improve them, and recognizing success, and meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers.”
