Executive Development Program

Build your human resources functional skills while gaining exposure to the broad scope of department store retailing. This HR rotational program will take you through a series of assignments in areas such as: an HR generalist, associate relations, labor relations, organizational development, recruitment, learning & development, benefits, and compensation. After completion of the Executive Development Program, you will be placed as an executive within Human Resources. This program is offered at our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

What you have the opportunity to do

  • Assignment to special HR-related research projects and/or team projects that will provide numerous opportunities to work with senior HR executives
  • Invitation to attend special Macy’s meetings/training opportunities such as Solutions InSTORE Conference, Benefits/HR Services Annual Enrollment Meeting, Investigation to Decision Training, Peer Group Analysis training, Violence in Workplace Training (TAG), and more.
  • Receive individual mentoring from a VP level HR executive
  • Involvement and leadership role in volunteer committees such as United Way, Fine Arts Fund, Diversity Council, Employee Resource Groups, Partners In Time, etc.

What to bring to the program

  • Pursuing BS/BA degree in HR or other related discipline
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates commitment and passion to long-term career in Human Resources
  • Practical HR related internship or work experience preferred, but not required
